The Orchid (for now)

by brae

I'll refer to this cottage as The Orchid until I come up with another name.  There's nothing wrong with "The Orchid" per se, but I'd rather give it a unique name.  :]

I picked up the kit at the local Hobby Lobby using a 40% off coupon, so I am off to a good start.

A dry fit is in order to get a feel for the size of the house overall as well as the rooms.  But first, I must organize some mini supplies or I'll spend most of my time hunting things.

Hi Brae! I can't wait to see what you do with this one! My "Folly" is an Orchid kit.... I did little to change it because it was my first kit! But eventually I started to make changes... and I am still working on it! The "Tree House" is part of the "landscape" and is also far from done! But it is a good basic kit for a "smallish" house. I will be eagerly watching this one!!!

I've always thought this kit very appealing and have seen some quite pretty builds on Pinterest etc. I am really interested to see what you make of it!

Glad it is the Orchid! Something about it "fits" the goal you have. I think it is the porch and side windows that make it feel right. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it! Doug

This post inspired me to go ahead and order the Laurel kit that I am planning to bash into a likeness of an old family home-- looking forward to seeing your build, Brae!
