Parlor with fireplace

by brae Email

Now that I have the parlor fireplace mostly built, I can work on creating the replacement wall where the bay window used to be.  I started by lining up the chimney on the outer wall so I could measure where the firebox opening is along that wall.  It's the first time I've seen it there since I finished bricking the lower portion.  :D

I then marked the firebox opening on the inside wall to set up the fireplace.  I put the chair, coffee table and bookcase that will likely stay in this room and borrowed the sofa from the Newport and the stool from Baslow Ranch.

The mirror above the fireplace will likely stay, and I think the room layout works well.  And, man, do I love that chair!  :D
