Parlor coals

by brae Email

Just a quick post tonight since I am catching up on some other things.  :D

I tried out the red bulb and resin coals for the Phoenix parlor hob grate.  I love the way it brings out the detailing in the fireplace, but I will probably paint the bulb to tone down the light.  I like the idea of sleepy embers in a warm, cozy room.

Oh, and someone said they didn't believe this was a mini house....now you can see my dining room / work area.  :D  There sits the mini Heritage.

Such a lovely compliment to think it is a real house.

The room is looking fabulous Brae. I agree with you about toning down the glow to give it a cosy look. Is that the painting you have chosen for the room or are you still deciding?

It was indeed a great compliment! :D Yes, that's the painting I will use - I haven't worked on the real print or the frame yet, though. I'm glad you like the room!

It's sort of like a shock to see the house on your dining room table. It looks so small. And, yet, when I Iook at photos of the individual rooms, the rooms do look like they belong in a real house. I love the painting you have chosen. It was also my favourite.

Oh yes, your work is so detailed in" life like perfection" I can see why someone would say that! The fireplace looks beautiful in the room...perfection, again!~Patti

Well, I have seen your work area -- but I STILL think it is a real house!

Great workmanship.

Cheers,

Thanks for proving that it's a mini house, Brae! Sometimes it's really hard to know for sure! ;-) Love the fireplace! :-) Jennifer

I love our process..how you complete the bottom floor, then work up from there. Makes so much sense! And I agree with everyone else, your house does look life-size. I'd move in if I were 5.5 inches tall.
