Merry Christmas to me!!!

I've faked an afghan before with venise lace, but I am ever in awe of those who can actually crochet in miniature.  I have the patience for needlework, but I don't think I could wrap my mind around using sewing thread as yarn with a tiny crochet hook well enough to produce anything close to resembling the works of art Mary at Woodland Miniatures makes.

After admiring her work for close to a year, I bought myself an early Christmas present...one of her fabulous miniature crochet afghans, just like the ones my grandma and great grandma used to make (mom still has one of the life sized ones).

Mary does flawless work.  Magnified, the stitches are indiscernible from a real life sized afghan.

And, her creations drape so realistically.

As you can see, I decorated the Newport for the holidays again.  Forgive me for using the same Christmas tree and other decorations I made last year, but time didn't permit an overhaul.  Elves are on strike or some nonsense.  :[

Ah, well...at least I arranged the room differently and put out some mugs for the hot chocolate that's warming on the stove in the kitchen.  The poinsettia is a handmade gift from my dear friend Lyssa.

I made the Christmas cards, garland and wrapped presents last year as well.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

The afghan is beautifully made! It's very American I think, I had never seen one of these until I went to the USA. My dear host mother (I was an exchange student for a year) made me a blue and white one, the perfect colours for me!

Your Christmas scene looks wonderful, so cosy and warm. I love those chairs, can you please tell me who made them?

Have a lovely Christmas!

Thank you all very much! Josje - The chairs and matching settee are by Bespaq, though I have rarely seen them other than when I bought these on ebay.
