Master bedroom progress

by brae Email

The wallpaper used in the master bedroom is the usual Bazzill Basics, though this time I used the "wrong" side.  The color is Blank Check, and it has a slight tweed feel to it.

In a previous post, I showed how I apply the wallpaper around the wall dividers.  Using scrapbook paper has one disadvantage in that it usually isn't any wider than 12 inches.  For this particular room, I put the seams above the doorways to make them less noticeable.

The bird statue is a charm with the loop removed that I glued to a wooden carved bead.  The flowers are Bonnie Lavish dahlias.

The bed and dresser are meant for this room, but the rest of the pieces are placeholders.  I have a short bookshelf kit to take the place of the one I've borrowed from the study.

The flooring shown is a piece of felt, though I'll likely go with wood flooring.  The felt just covers the unsightly tape lines holding the first floor wiring in place.  :D

The chairs are also from the study, and I am still considering a window seat instead of separate chairs.  I have something interesting planned for the bed; it's from a design photo I found online...and I am hoping it works out well in mini.  ;]

There's no way anyone could tell, unless they knew, that the room in the photo is a miniature. It looks fabulous.

I love the idea of window seat. I'm looking forward to seeing how the seating area turns out.
