Master bath planning, update
by brae
The last time I posted about planning the master bath, I had only some vintage bath fixtures to use. Now, I have most of what I wanted for the room.
I am using a modern bathtub and commode from a supplier in the UK. The rya rug was made by Glenda at Peppercorn Minis in New Zealand, and the pitcher on the bureau was made by Sylvia at lotjesdollshouse in The Netherlands. That's one of those famous Michael's hutches standing in for a cabinet. I am undecided if I will use this piece or build something else. I have seen others do amazing things with Michael's hutches but have yet to give it a try myself.
The vessel sink came from Silly Sisters in The Netherlands (Nileke - a Greenleaf member - had this in her photos from a miniatures show, and I just had to track it down). The bureau was supposed to be a stand-in for a kit I still need to make as the vanity, but I really like it as is! Hmm...I might need to think about this a bit more. :]

For the most part, I am trying to achieve a more realistic look for my minis, but I try to remember this is a hobby and some things can be aesthetic and not as I would have it in real life.
For instance, I do like a big bathtub, but I would be unhappy without a shower. I don't think putting a curtain around this tub lends itself to the more contemporary look I want. There is room to add a shower, and I bought a shower base with the intention of putting one in. But, when I see the first layout with only the bathtub versus this one with the shower...I'm torn. I am drawn to the layout without the shower. So, I'll have to think about that some more, too! :]
Also, just a quick note of welcome to my new followers (I finally figured out how to add that google connect application!). Thank you to those who've left comments or sent me personal e-mails of encouragement. It means the world to me that those who offer such great inspiration find it while reading my blog, too. :D Many thanks to all!
And, a special thanks to Eloise who has written a little feature about my blog...you brightened my day! :D

Daisy commented on Greenleaf pretty much the same as what you said. I will likely go with the tub only...it just has such a relaxing spa feel. In Miniland, we can luxuriate in a bath - no rush of a shower needed! I have some ideas rolling around in my brain for how to bump it all up a notch, too!
And congratulations on the Greenleaf winning, the first time I saw your house I fell in love with it, amazing work!
