Guest room planning

I haven't glued the walls in place just yet - need to finish a few minor things first - but I did try out a quick layout in the guest room.

The bed and the chair will likely stay, but the bureau is just a placeholder for a dresser.  I have a House of Miniatures dresser kit that I plan to make for the space.  I'll also have a small bedside table with a lamp.

The single bed was scratch built using a pattern from Thirties & Forties Miniatures in 1:12 Scale by Jane Harrop.  The rya rug was made by Glenda at Peppercorn Minis in New Zealand, and the pitcher on the bureau was made by Sylvia at lotjesdollshouse in The Netherlands.  I made the afghan using a faux crochet technique (that's the lumpy old mattress from Baslow Ranch under it - haha), and the pillows are those I made from self-printed fabric for the living room sofa.

Unlike the study, this room won't have a fireplace or an exposed brick wall.  Adding a chimney breast and fireplace would take up too much room.  As for the brick wall, since I am extending the second floor wall forward over the front porch, I had to piece the side wall.  I used a leftover piece of mdf and attached it to the end of the brick wall with wood glue.  The brick will show on the exterior of the house, but this interior wall will need to be covered before wallpapering the room.

The door will be placed near the window now that I have filled the old stair hole on the hallway side of the wall.  :]
