Goodies from New Zealand and rug progress

by brae Email

Today I received the beautiful minis I won in Glenda's giveaway. Hurray! They are fantastic. The journal is made of the softest leather and opens. The baskets are so cute...I can't wait to fill them. And, lastly, the rug has amazing texture. She makes such quality minis. Pop on over to Peppercorn Minis and check out her blog. :] Thank you, Glenda, for your generosity!

Here is an update on the rug. I think the red is turning out wonderfully. It was slow going at first, but I am getting into the groove of it now. This is 6.5 hours of red stitching (just over 76 hours total stitching).

Note: Somehow the term "blogspot" ended up on my blacklisted spam list in the past few days. If you left a comment from blogspot and don't see it here, I didn't receive it. :\ I've fixed the problem, so comment away!!! :D

Beautiful rug. Isn't it mind-boggling how so much time is spent with so little to show? But persevere....

I'm so glad you like the minis, Brae!
I'm awestruck when I look at your needlework - such patience, and such a beautiful pattern, and the colours are perfect!!!
I love it!!

Hi Brae,

the blogspot, that was me ;) Tried to comment but it didn't work. I wanted to mail you about it, but you already know now.

Lovely miniatures you've won! I bet they get a nice place in your house.

And your rug....I'm just without words. It's really beautiful and the red really matches perfect. I also think embroidery feels like meditation and something "useful" to do when watching tv or something like that.

Have a good day!

groetjes Evelien

Thanks, Evelien! TV time is definitely good stitching time...or listening to an audio book as I've been doing lately.
