Front door coach lamps and more

by brae Email

The next lights to go up on the Heritage are these Clare Bell Brass Coach Lamps.

There's nothing quite like adding light to a dollhouse to bring it to life!

They are shiny and new and will need to be weathered, but they have a wonderful old time look about them.

I need to get to work on the glass inserts for the front door to finish off the spooky mood!  :O

As I was trying to capture a detail shot of the coach lamps, the macro setting on the camera focused on the paint instead.  I cannot believe how well the crackle paint effect mimics old, lifted paint - especially right below the light.  It's so exciting!  :D

Now that the interior walls are padded, I can start making the electric channels and figuring out the electrical plan for the house.  I really liked how the chimney design for Baxter Pointe Villa worked for hiding wiring, so I am going that route again.  All wires will lead to that wall and descend through the baseboard (yet to be added).

In other mini-related news, I was featured on etsy again in a treasury called Itsy Bitsies!  :D

And, speaking of etsy, there are two things I wish to mention.  First, Lyssa is having a birthday sale in both her mini shop and her real life size painting shop.  She's offering 25% off her wonderfully artistic creations.

Second, Kelly has finished the lovely Fern Creek Cottage and has listed it for sale in her etsy shop.  It's a beautiful stone and stucco cottage with a lovely, inspired interior.

Kelly recently told me she and I share a love of photography, and she was so generous to send me one of her miniature works for the Heritage.  It's titled Ghosts of the Past.  How perfect!  :D

That print is perfect for the Heritage, Kelly did a great job.

The coach lamps fit in well, it will be cool to see them with a weathered finish and foggy glass. Are you going to put teeny dead moths inside them?

Aww, thanks, friend!

Guess I should go get my net to catch all the big fish you will be sending my way, eh?!

You are the best.

And the lights? If I could spell magnificent in French, I would. It doesn't give of the right (these are totally awesome vibe) that it would in French. :D LOVE the look- it is coming along so well.

Thanks so much!!! :>>

Keli - you are getting ahead of me. There's no glass to fog, but there are plans for spider webs.

Lyssa - you are quite welcome!

I love those coach lamps! Are they battery operated or did you round wire them? I can't wait for you to start doing the wiring. I need some pointers because I must wire my house. That framed photograph is so right for the house. I honestly am so impatient for you to start the interior. Your friends' works of art are admirable. They are so very talented.
