Classes at the Bishop International Show April 2012

by brae Email

I've just received confirmation that I have been enrolled in two classes this April when the Bishop Show comes around.  :D

First is making a brass and copper Arts & Crafts firescreen in a class by Bill Studebaker.  Not only will it be great to learn how to work with metals and soldering, but this screen will find a place in the Arts & Crafts interior of either the Glencroft or the Brownstone.

Second is a class about using a jeweler's saw taught by Diane Almeyda.  Being able to make beautiful designs will be a wonderful skill to add to my toolbox.

I learned how to use the jewelers saw last year at Castine in Bill Robertson's hinges class, what a marvelous tool, of course in the first few hours I broke more blades than actually sawing anything out, but once you master it, a big world of possibilities opens up. Enjoy!!!!!!

Those are wonderful courses you will be taking, Brae! So happy for you! You will be developing such helpful skills which will permit you to build beautiful pieces for your dollhouses and perhaps even for your Etsy shop!

I hope to take a class at a show sometime soon. I am considering the ones at Sturbridge. The ones you've chosen look awesome! Love that firescreen!

Oh Brae. You could not believe how jealous I am of you. What a wonderful opportunity to be able to do these two classes. They will certainly help with the skill base for producing Arts & Craft Movement items. If only it wasn't so far and expensive to travel from New Zealand! I look forward to seeing the results of your workshops.

I'm so glad you got in the classes you wanted. I am sure you'll put your new skills to work well. I'll be at the Chicago Show, too. I can hardly wait! I feel like a child waiting for Christmas Day.

I'm so jealous! I'm sure you will master these in no time! I wonder if I can talk the hubby into letting me go to the show.
