1920s kitchen sink
by brae
I bought another item for the haunted Heritage: a 1920s porcelain Kohler kitchen sink by Jacqueline Kerr Deiber. I've always liked the look of this sink but never thought I'd build a house to use one in since I usually make modern minis. I thought about making a room box, though, just to have one of these marvelous sinks for myself. :D
The wallpaper above is part of the Grandma's Kitchen line by We R Memory Keepers called Simple Stripes. I used this in the Room for Rent on Baslow Ranch.
I've done a bit of research and discovered that 1920s kitchens didn't have wallpaper but were painted in solid colors. Since practicality really isn't important in miniature, I might still go with one of my wallpaper choices even if it isn't historically accurate. After all, I am building this as art for myself not as a replica.
Another purchase was a supply of huge Victorian baseboard, equivalent to 9" tall in real life. I love tall baseboards in old houses, and this one has wonderful detailing.
This wallpaper is by Making Memories called Geometric Fa La La.

Love this project, Marlene xx
I agree with Marlene that in real life our homes are a combination of things/stuff :0)
I am very curious how the kitchen roombox will be when you are finished with it ;-)
